Blending is the safer first move. It is subtle enough that colleagues notice you look rested rather than coloured, and stepping up to fuller coverage later is easy. Going straight to full coverage and regretting the severity is the more common mistake.
03 Choosing the shade
Stay within one or two levels of your natural colour. For most Indian men that means dark browns, not jet black, unless your natural base was truly black. The goal is the colour your hair was five years ago, not a new identity.
Undertone matters more than brand. Your stylist should assess your shade in natural daylight against your skin, not under salon spots that flatter everything. If the consultation happens entirely under warm indoor light, ask to step toward the door.
04 The beard has to match
Beard hair is coarser and more porous than scalp hair, so it grabs colour darker and faster. Applied identically, the beard ends up a shade deeper than the head, which looks wrong.
