Nanoplastia is a smoothing treatment that straightens hair gently while leaving it looking like hair, not a sheet. The product goes on section by section, sits for the better part of an hour, then gets sealed in with heat. When it is done right, you get hair that air-dries smoother, behaves in humidity, and needs far less heat styling day to day.
It sits in the middle ground between keratin and rebonding. Keratin mostly tames frizz and keeps your natural wave. Rebonding flattens everything permanently. 02 Who it suits, and who should skip
The best candidates are wavy, curly, or coarse hair that frizzes in humidity, the kind that takes forty minutes to blow out and still puffs up by evening. It is also a strong pick heading into wedding season, when you want low-maintenance hair through November to February without a daily styling battle.
Skip it if your hair is very fine and already flat, since the treatment can leave it looking limp. Skip it right after bleach or heavy balayage too. Chemically lightened hair is usually too fragile for a heat-sealed smoothing treatment. A consultation and a small strand test settle the question honestly. 03 What happens in the chair
- Consultation and wash. Your stylist checks your hair's history, then washes with a clarifying shampoo so the product takes evenly.
- Application. The nanoplastia cream goes on in thin sections, roots to ends, and is left to process for 45 to 60 minutes.
- Sealing. Your stylist blow-dries the product in, then passes a flat iron over small sections to seal everything.
- Rinse and finish. The hair is rinsed, a mask or conditioner goes on, and it gets a final smooth blow-dry.
Total time in the chair is 3 to 4 hours depending on length and density. Bring a book, or at least a charged phone.
04 Aftercare that decides the result
The first 48 to 72 hours matter most. No washing, no tying your hair up, no clips, no tucking it behind your ears, and keep it away from rain. A kink from a ponytail holder during this window can set into the hair.
After that, switch to a sulphate-free shampoo and a light conditioner, and wash less often if you can manage it. Use heat protectant before any iron or dryer work. 05 Cost, upkeep, and honest downsides
Pricing varies with hair length and density. At our salon the current nanoplastia offer is Rs 2,999 (was Rs 4,499), valid through 15 October 2026. Results usually last 3 to 6 months, fading gradually rather than growing out with a hard line, which makes the regrowth far gentler than rebonding's.
The honest downsides: it does not give pin-straight hair, so if that is the goal, say so at the consultation. Volume drops, so very fine hair can look thinner. And it is a one-way door for months, you cannot undo it early. But for most wavy Indian hair, the daily time saved is the real prize.
Before you book: walk in with your hair in its natural, unstyled state. A stylist needs to see your real texture, not your best blowout, to tell you whether nanoplastia is the right call.

Usually 3 to 6 months on Indian hair, depending on your hair texture, how often you wash, and aftercare. It fades gradually, so there is no sharp regrowth line. Sulphate-free shampoo and less frequent washing stretch the results, while heat styling without protectant shortens them.
Is nanoplastia better than keratin?
They solve different problems. Keratin mainly tames frizz while keeping your natural wave, while nanoplastia straightens more noticeably while keeping some movement. If frizz is your only complaint, keratin may be enough. If you also want your waves relaxed into a smoother shape, nanoplastia fits better.
Can I get nanoplastia on coloured hair?
Hair coloured with a single process colour usually takes nanoplastia fine, but heavily bleached or balayaged hair is often too fragile for a heat-sealed treatment. A strand test tells the truth. Tell your stylist about every chemical service in the last year, including at-home colour.
Does nanoplastia work in Gurugram's humidity?
It helps a lot with monsoon frizz, and treated hair behaves better in humidity than untreated hair. But no treatment makes hair humidity-proof. Expect smoother, more manageable hair, not magic. A light anti-frizz serum on damp hair before styling adds an extra layer of protection.
