01 Our prices, without asterisks
Men's haircut: Rs 149. Women's haircut: Rs 349. That is the price, confirmed before we pick up the scissors, with no surprise add-ons at billing.
We keep the board simple on purpose. A haircut price should not need decoding, and you should never discover the real number at the payment counter.
02 What moves the price at any salon
Location and rent. A salon inside a Gurugram mall pays several times the rent of a high-street shop in Sector 52, and the haircut price carries that cost. Same scissors, different postcode economics.
Stylist seniority. A senior stylist with a decade of precision cutting charges for judgement built over thousands of heads. For complex corrective work, that premium is worth it. For a maintenance trim, it rarely matters.
Time in the chair. A 15-minute rush cut and a 45-minute consultation cut are different services wearing the same name. Longer appointments cost more because the salon can serve fewer clients a day.
What is bundled. Wash, styling, finishing: some salons include them, some itemise them. A Rs 99 cut with separate wash and styling charges is not cheaper than an all-in Rs 149. Always ask what the number covers.

Whether it is worth it depends on what you value. Plenty of clients prefer a sharp Rs 149 cut every three weeks over one Rs 800 cut every two months. Hair grows; the maths favours frequency over luxury for most people.
04 How to tell a fair price
Ask three questions before you book anywhere:
- What is included? Wash, cut, finish: get the list, not a shrug.
- Is this the final price? If the answer has conditions, keep asking.
- Who is cutting? A trainee and a senior at different prices is fair. A trainee at senior prices is not.
And trust the consultation. A stylist who looks at your hair, asks about your routine and suggests something specific is worth more than one who reaches for the scissors while you are still explaining.
The cheapest haircut is the one you never have to fix. A rushed Rs 99 cut followed by a Rs 500 correction elsewhere is a Rs 600 haircut with extra regret.

How often should I budget for a haircut?
